We acknowledge First Nation peoples worldwide, who with ongoing determination and care, speak for ways of living based on the respect and reverence of life on Earth. We acknowledge their ongoing commitment to caring for country amidst the damaging impacts of colonisation and exploitation. We would also like to acknowledge our ancestors, human and more than human, who have traversed through time, forging the relationships that have given birth to life on this planet: the ancient calcium of fish bones, the oxygen from carboniferous forests and the ongoing solar rays that shape the world.
